Oak Park basement renovation takes a blank, unfinished basement and transforms it into an in-law suite or a short-term rental space for the client. This individual study focused on code adherence and maximization of space.

The images show the current state of the basement. The concrete floor will be dug out and lowered by twelve inches to allow for taller ceiling heights. All drawings were completed in Revit with renderings in Enscape and finished in Photoshop.

Details show the new insulation and drywall layers to provide added warmth and comfort to the unfinished basement. Renderings of potential finishes and furnishings complete the proposal.

The Conran Building case study was an individual project exploring the systems and structures that make up a modern high-rise building utilizing Revit software.

In this slide we examined the HVAC, lighting, ceiling, and wall plans of the existing Conran building.

Further study of the HVAC system, explored through the use of an axonometric drawing. Here the HVAC stack is shown as well as the branches of the HVAC system on the selected floor.

Details study the relationships of building systems coming together to create wall systems. Showing how insulation and columns interact are key elements of the details created.

The Soo Fitness and Recreation Center is a solo project designing a social and fitness center for Sault Ste. Marie, MI. The goal was to achieve LEED Gold certification in a space that works with the existing site conditions. Block diagrams completed in Sketchup.

The Soo Fitness and Recreation Center is a three floor building with parking under the building on floor one. Starting the gym on floor two allows for clear views over the adjacent berm that holds back the St. Mary's River. Drawings created in Revit with renderings from Enscape.

The building is divided up into different sections with an indoor lap pool and children's splash pad, basketball courts, a weight room and cardio lab, as well as an indoor running track. Drawings created in Revit.

The structure of the center is brought outside creating large open areas free of large structural columns. This creates a unique exterior with large structural columns holding up the roof panels. Drawings from Revit with renderings from Enscape finished in Photoshop.

North Corktown Redevelopment project was a team effort with Tiegann taking on the largest plot of land with mixed use townhouses and an adjacent grocery store. The grocery store was a vital addition to the project to solve a food desert problem in the area. Floor plans created in Revit.

The townhomes would be located above mixed use ground floor spaces, allowing for additional retail in the developing area of North Corktown. The grocery store would employ a classic bow-truss style roof to provide a large open concept storefront to provide groceries to residents. Rendered floorplans created in Sketchup and section created in Revit.

Fur-Nation featuring the Barking Lot, is a 42,000 sq ft project by Tiegann that explores the renovation of an abandoned retail building into an indoor dog park, pet store, adoption center, and cafe. The design development found what the important adjacencies are as well as utilized bubble diagrams to help convey the layout. Diagrams created in Powerpoint and Excel Spreadsheet.

Many unique and distinctive light fixtures make up the lighting plan for Fur-Nation. From the backlit logos to the dog toy fixtures, the lighting adds additional whimsy to a space filled with light-hearted elements. Additional lighting fixtures utilize indirect RGB LED lamps to illuminate the space, allowing for color changing effects. The lighting plan showcases the lighting elements utilized in Fur-Nation.

Showcasing yellows, greens, and bright fuchsias, the color palette of Fur-Nation was selected based off of color waves visible to dogs. The building's cafe and cash wrap are shown along with the floor plan. The layout of the interior consists of a large curving dog park that takes up nearly 28,000 sq ft. Floor plans and elevations created with AutoCAD and renderings completed with 3ds Max.

A solo concept project, the Bridge of Artisans is a competition project that creates a large multi-use, multi-level pedestrian bridge in Pisa, Italy. Providing spaces for a large piazza, cafes, artist lofts, and exhibition/performance spaces, the bridge is more than a crossing, it's a destination. Rendering created with Enscape and finished in Photoshop.

The undulating and interlocking curves of the pedestrian walkways provide different vistas to overlook the city of Pisa and the Arno River. Accessible from any of the three levels, the walkways are the star of this unique structure.
